(I tried to message you, but it didn’t work. I am sorry for posting this publicly but I didn’t find another way to get in touch with you.)

    Hi Christina,

My name is Margarita, I am currently a graduate student at the Master’’s Communication, Culture, and Technology program at Georgetown University. This past winter I spent some time wwoofing on la finca de Tina (Tina Marshall’’s farm). Have you heard of it? I really loved the community of Tumianuma, and Vilcabamba as well and really wanted to come back but didn”t know in what capacity.

My academic work is focused on new (and “old”) media and community building. This semester I”ve had an opportunity to do some documentary work for one of my classes and I thought it would be a great medium to bring to the community. I am aware of the land development issues, both in terms of its effects on the ecology, but also on the rising cost of living. I would love to either do a story about this or use documentary as mediation/conflict resolution tool.

While doing research I came across the work you have been doing in the area and I think it is fascinating, so I decided to write to see if you had any thoughts/suggestions about my project idea and/or if you have anyone I should contact about it.

    Thank you,

    Margarita
